Love Me

NANOHACH
“I am ill. I am sick in my head and in my heart. I can’t eat, can’t sleep, can’t be what I was. I’m ecstatic and then depressed. One moment I’m laughing, the next I’m weeping. What have you done to me? This madness is killing me. What is it? It’s love. It’s love. It’s love. I am in love and I hate it. I hate that I love you. I have lost control. The joy, the grief, the heaven and the hell of this, this that they call love.”
Is love a beautiful, liberating and joyful thing or a psychical disorder – a mental disease? If love is good why do we feel so bad?
A tragic dance comedy directed by one of the founders of the famous DV8 analyses the myth and the truth of being in love. Black humour, sweet ´n´ sweating bodies, and a heart burning with l.o.v.e.
“...NANOHACH uproots both of these clichés and again churns up the waters of Czech dance, this time with a humourous and energetic piece which you are going to love.” Kristýna Durczaková / A2 magazine 39/2008
“... In first place, is the extremely difficult task given all four dancers and their perfection in achieving this feat: Eliška Kašparova, Marta Trpišovska, Michael Vodenky and most of all Jan Malík." Marcela Benoniová, Právo (newspaper) 8.6. 2009 (Love Me)
"... Love Me fully met the high expectations for the piece. It’s well structured, has incredible drive, a breathtaking pace and, most importantly, intellectual content. Love Me also poses a great challenge to the dancers, requiring a great deal of acting and openness. Nanohach faced it bravely, and all four dancers — Malík, Kašparová, Trpišovská and Vodenka — fought like lions, bursting with energy and always going the extra mile. Love Me is an honest, open and funny portrayal of being in love..." Lucie Rozmánková (an article Love suffers long) / Prague Post 15.10.2008
"... What raises this quality of choreography above average, is the very energy of the dancers. It is only really rarely that one experiences so much release, liberation and pleasure watching dance on stage. (...) The choreography has cadence, and throughout the hour-long show, it doesn' t allow the audience to think about a single, other thing." Markéta Faustová ("Come on and love me!") / Lidové noviny 24.9. 2008 (Love me)
