Variable
Tereza Lenerová & Einat Ganz
Proměnná (The Variable) is a story of two people who pass each other; sometimes they are very close, then they are miles apart. Is there anything constant between them, anything not subject to continual change? How much is their relationship based on the memories of the past, on the plans for the future, what exactly is it right now?
In the world where everything is possible, we are undergoing continual change.
Our being is fragile, it is blasted by changes.
It is an endless story.
"Variable captures you also by its sophisticated, rich choreography supported by the costumes and light design. Some of the ideas really hit you: the use of two languages to underscore the tension between the characters, the 'film-like' movements, the water imitation by the light, Tereza riding on Einat's back (...) The feeling of authenticity and unpretentiousness sensed by the audience would alone make Proměnná worth seeing. It leads you to ask for more performances like this." Void Amongst Humans
Jarek Cemerek
The dance duet by Helena Arenbergerová and Jarek Cemerek leads audiences through many different atmospheres, each of which reflects human feelings in a large anonymous world. No matter how technologies bring us a great deal of benefit in the present society, we still feel lonely in our lives, lost in the crowd. In his latest work, the choreographer Jarek Cemerek investigates the impact of an anonymous background on the psyche of an individual.
“A truly impressive theatre experience that takes one to the moment where life situations collide with destiny.” (Marcela Benoniová, Novinky.cz, 23. 6. 2010)
"The choreography is very demanding as far as movement goes: both of the dancers, Helena and Jarek, however, managed to meet the demands and they are both impressive in the piece. Their roles fit them very well. Between each individual motion there is a slight sparkle: the spectators are eager to know what is coming next. The performers managed to intrigue, to go deeply under the skins of European dance observers." Lucie Břinková, Taneční aktuality, 21. 6. 2010
